Pulse oximetry (SpO2) is a worldwide standard monitoring tool that is now indispensable in anesthesia, intensive care and emergency medicine. Valuable information about the pulmonary as well as the cardiac situation of the patient is available simultaneously and immediately. With the addition of the oxygen binding curve and the factors influencing it, the oxygen partial pressure of the capillary bed under investigation can be determined indirectly and quickly. In addition, the so-called right and left shift (& influencing factors) of the oxygen binding curve is also demonstrated here. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30247849/
